Andalusia. A word that contains a thousand colors, flavors and magical places to discover.

- I recommend visiting this region in spring (May / June) or autumn (September / October) for a matter of optimal temperatures. I was there in July and it was literally impossible to be outside from 11:00 to 18:00 due to the excessive heat. - Andalusia is well connected by public transport (buses, trains and the Bla Bla Car service blablacar.es, widely used in Spain). - I recommend spending about 2-3 days in each city. My itinerary:

Cordoba

Hostel: Backpackers Al-Katre booked with Hostels Worldwide - Online Hostel Bookings, Ratings and Reviews (hostelworld.com) for 15 euros per night.

The two biggest attractions in Cordoba are the Grand Mosque and the Alcazar de Los Reyes Cristianos. The Great Mosque is one of the main expressions of Arab-Islamic art. I recommend visiting in the morning as from 8:30 to 9:30 the entrance is free. The Mosque is truly impressive and very impressive.

The Alcazar de Los Rejes Cristianos is a medieval fortress. Online booking is mandatory, which can be done directly on the day of the visit at the entrance to the Alcazar, and the payment of 5 euros. Last admission is at 3:30 pm, so I recommend visiting it in the morning. I have to admit that the Alcazar itself didn't impress me too much, but the gardens and park are truly spectacular.

I recommend getting lost in the streets of Cordoba to discover the most authentic and beautiful corners.

Roman Temple

Siviglia

Hostel: Hostel One Catedral booked with Hostels Worldwide - Online Hostel Bookings, Ratings and Reviews (hostelworld.com) for 16,50 euros per night.

Seville is by far the most spectacular and richest city from an artistic point of view in Andalusia. the visit of this little gem is compulsory during a trip to Andalusia !! Spain's square

Beautiful even during the night!

The Cathedral and the Bell Tower

The Alcazar of Seville In my opinion, much more impressive than the one in Cordoba. The cost of entry is 13.50 euros. Tickets can be bought directly on the spot.

Roof

Golden's tower It is a military control tower that stands on the Seville river.

Metropol Parasol or Setas The Setas is the largest wooden building in Europe. The cost of entry is 5 euros during the day and at sunset, while 10 euros during the night. I went there during sunset and the view over the city, as well as the play of lights, is truly spectacular.

Spain's square

Cadiz

Finally at the sea! Cadiz is a seaside city that offers several beaches and unique places to try the famous fish Tapas. It is very small and can be easily explored by feet.

Hostel: Summer Cadiz booked with Hostels Worldwide - Online Hostel Bookings, Ratings and Reviews (hostelworld.com) for 14 euros per night.

First thing first!! As soon as I arrived I stopped at the local market in the main square for breakfast. Churros paid 1 euro !!

Parque Genovés

It's the biggest park of Cadiz.

La Caleta beach It is a free beach located in the historic center and, for this reason, it is always crowded during the day. I recommend arriving around 8:30 and staying for a few hours, because then the heat becomes really unbearable.

Santa Maria del Mar beach It is a beach that is about 30 minutes walk from the historic center. Very busy with young people.

Where to eat? LAS FLORES 1 This is an extremely cheap fish tapas restaurant located downtown, near the market. I have been in Cadiz two and a half days and have been to Las Flores 1 three times, since I liked it so much.

Address --> Pl. Topete, 4, 11001 Cádiz, Spain

.

Malaga

Malaga is famous for its nightlife, but I must say that on an artistic level it offers much less than the big three Cordoba, Seville and Granada. Cathedral

La Malagueta beach It is the closest beach to the historic center. It is very spacious and is equipped with umbrellas and sunbeds

Mirador de Gibralfaro

It is the panoramic point from which you can enjoy a spectacular view of the city.

Bulls' arena

Where to eat? Definitely not in the historic center where prices are skyrocketing. MIGUELITO EL CARINOSO is a restaurant on the seafront where you only eat fish, frequented only by locals. It is not easy to reach because the area is poorly connected by public transport. I had used the electric scooter.

Address --> P.º Marítimo el Pedregal, 77, 29017 Málaga, Spain

Granada

Hostel: ECO hostel booked with Hostels Worldwide - Online Hostel Bookings, Ratings and Reviews (hostelworld.com) for 13 euros per night.

Granada is the city that hosts one of the attractions that attracts tourists from all over the world: the Alhambra. The Alhambra is the most impressive place I have ever visited. The photos absolutely do not do it justice. It was the royal residence of the Catholic kings of Castile. It is a huge complex, so much so that it takes about 5 hours to visit it all! Wonderful is an understatement. The cost is 15 euros without audio guide. I recommend booking your ticket early in the morning (8:30 am) when there is still no crowd.

Gardens

Miraduro San Nicolas

From here, you get the best view over the Alhambra.

Miraduro San Miguel

It is a viewpoint quite far from the city center but which offers a spectacular view over the whole city of Granada. It is quite complicated to reach because the path to follow literally passes through houses and gardens.

Having one more day in Granada, I decided to take advantage of it and take a beautiful hike in the Sierra Nevada, precisely on Pico Veleta (3,398 m).

From Granada there is a bus that takes you directly to the Sierra Nevada and from there it is possible to start hiking. ATTENTION: there is only one bus available in the morning (9:00 am) and one in the evening (5:00 pm) at a cost of 9 euros round trip.
