Famous for being the place where the famous writer J.K. Rowling created Harry Potter, Edinburgh is a magical place, rich in history and artistic beauty.

Where to stay: Castel Rock Hostel (£13 per night) booked on www.hostelworld.com
Added £2 if you want to have breakfast (bread with nutella/jam, a glass of juice, fruit and a bowl with milk and cereals)

Getting around: from the airport to the city centre, just take the tram (£6.50 per ride)
The city is easily walkable.
What to see:
Edinburgh Castle
It is an impressive castle from which you can enjoy a fantastic view of Edinburgh. The ticket costs £ 18 and can be bought on this site Tickets | Edinburgh Castle

Castle gardens

Interior of the castle

Victoria Street
Famous for being the road that inspired Rowling for the creation of Diagon Alley.

Dean Village
It is a beautiful district of Edinburgh characterized by its somewhat retro style.

Circus Lane
It is a beautiful street and famous for its views.

Near Circus Lane is located The Pantry (thepantryedinburgh.co.uk), a place known by locals to have a brunch. I recommend going there for 9:30am-10:00am because otherwise it gets very busy.

Greyfriars Kirkyard
Inevitable for Harry Potter fans. It is the cemetery from which Rowling took inspiration for some characters in the books such as Tom Riddle.

Tomb of Thomas Riddle

Calton Hill
It is one of the symbols of Edinburgh. It is a hill from which you have a 360 ° view of the city.

Where to eat:
With only 2-3£ you can have lunch with these delicious pies. They also make them for vegetarians, both sweet and savory.
Beef pie

Ideal place for a lunch. The managers are very nice: they offered me lunch since it was Easter and I was alone.
Toast with avocado and roasted vegetables

Warm brownie with homemade raspberry jam, coconut ice cream and coconut flakes

The ideal place for pancake lovers. The peculiarity of the place is that the pancakes are created by the customers. I had chosen to combine Nutella, apple and cinnamon.

Free walking tour about ghosts
The guide told different stories about characters that made Edinburgh's history scarier.
Free Harry Potter tour
The guide took us to the places that were Rowling's inspiration for the creation of Harry Potter.
